Last year when we got this plant the peppers started out green and turned red. I over wintered the plant indoors, it did very well, but I almost killed it this spring by putting it out too early. It came back to life, is full of leaves, lots of flowers, but the fruit are black this year.

Still hot enough to melt the paint off the walls and not diseased or anything...just wondering what would make the fruit black. Any ideas?

IDK, but our jalepenos come in 60% black every year, we just eat them, doesnt seem to make a difference. I thought it was our humidity but what do I know!? :)

I put on my HAZMAT suit and picked a couple. They are black on the tip and green on the bottom. I will leave them out a while longer and see if any start to turn red.

Maybe it is some kind of mineral balance thing?

I eat jalapenos with black on them too...so i wasn't really fearful of the black chilitepin peppers. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing up my plant. We plant on bringing it inside again once fall gets here :D
