A few times a year, our city picks up any tree branches and brush we leave at the curb. Yesterday, I trimmed the trees and bushes, it took me from noon to 4:00pm! . I got a huge pile of stuff!

One of the trees in the front yard is a Rhus Lancea. http://arboretum.arizona.edu/taxa/Rhus_lancea.html

Right now it is blooming, I climbed up on a ladder to get some of the branches that are hanging over the roof of the carport. I got covered in the tiny yellow flowers that are very sticky with pollen! Here is the top of my head, AFTER I tried to get the flowers off!

Here is how thick they were in my hair.

It took shampooing it twice, and then combing it with a bunch of conditioner on it to get rid of the flowers. They were thick on the bottom of the shower!

On a happier note, the small garden bed by the new chicken run is starting to fill in. I can hardly wait until it begins to bloom.

Our city use to pick it up like that, now they require it to be in garbage bags to be picked up. Makes no sense to me, now I haul it off if I do a clean up in the city limits instead of loading our landfill with plastic bags, not to mention all the extra work it would require to get it in those bags.

Nice work! Your yard always looks so beautiful, it is hard to believe you had that much to take to the curb! The gardens in front of the chickens look adorable...so nice to see green plants, ready for spring... That kind of gives new meaning to "wearing flowers in your hair" doesn't it?

WOW love the flower bed fencing. :) Pretty cute. Hmmm next time you trim the tree while in bloom, I bet you wear a hat! What a mess.

I love that life is actually going on in your yard.

And I feel your pain.... when I wash my hair from the mess I get into it, I have to brush and brush and brush to get that stuff out. Usually happens while I'm cleaning out the entry to the woods at the back of property. Good thing its only 1 time a year huh?! :D

It was a old baby crib someone in the neighborhood was throwing away! Worked great to help make the Chicken run more secure. I am a "trash picker" from way back!

Funny thing is about 98% of the time when I am out in public, I do have on a hat or headcovering of some type!
