I just found a new use for the Evernote service. It might be used with Pinterest also but would look a little drab on that bright, picture site ;)!

If I want to know how the season compares at this time with last year, I can go to archive.org and see if their bot happened across this page: www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/cdus/degree_days/grodgree.txt

That is really hit or miss - the Wayback machine is wonderful but their bot missed 2009 completely for those pages, as an example.

NOAA updates their measurements of Growing Degree Days weekly. I can't find anywhere that they store the information, graphs or anything but that sure doesn't mean they don't exist. Their "averages" leave something to be desired since so many cities have no official average yet.

So, pin it to the cloud! If I can remember to do that at about a regular time each month, it will be there to consult next year. Not only for the weather station nearest to my gardens but elsewhere in the US. For example, we can see that Phoenix has accumulated nearly 1/3rd more warmth this year than is normal! A lot of the US is about normal but it would be interesting to see how that compared to 2012.
