I picked our first ears of corn today. We are in the suburbs so we tend to stick plants in every nook and cranny as we don't have tons of room for gardens. The corn is in two small beds on either side of our front walkway. I have never grown corn before, even when I was a kid and helping in my Mom's garden so this is really exciting. I think next year I am going to plant a different variety that produces smaller ears but more of them per stalk.

This is the variety I am thinking of planting next time. Anyone have experience with it?

Great thinking to plant corn where you did. Not only do you get something nice to look at during its growing season, but you've got a ready made autumn display when they get all dried up and you don't even have to move them....just add a pumpkin or two to the base of them. Bet you didn't realize how smart you were. :celebrate
