i am in zone five and I have corn that is about 3 inches tall right now. I would say plant it!! Should be fine, you should be past any freeze that might hurt it.

Should be fine as long as threat of frost is gone. Most varieties needs about 70-85 days to mature. Put them in the ground or start them in peat pots since they don't like transplanting.

The problem with using the peat pots is that it takes way to many to make a good amount of corn. When I plant it is usually 1-3 lbs of seed and that would break you in buying pots.

I can't remember who sells it but there's this really cool tool we found that makes seed starting pots out of newspaper. It's a little time consuming but I enjoy it.

I'll try to find the source.
