Cosmic Crisp , a new variety apple bred in Washington by Bruce Barritt at Washington State University . This new apple is a cross of Enterprise X Honeycrisp that has a sweet ,tangy flavor and rank high in taste, texture and beauty and has many qualities of the popular Honeycrisp with fewer horticultural challanges. The first 24 Washington growers were chosen by drawing to plant almost 600,000 trees in 2017 and a million trees will be planted in 2018 by additional growers . The first apples will be harvested and sold in stores in the fall of 2020. This apple was developed in Washington , and all growers, packers, and marketers are exclusively in Washington.

Red and NYboy ( not going to be easy finding this apple tree on Craig's list anytime soon either . Maybe an apple or two after 2020 at your local sooopermarket) ... NO cuttings or trees will be available to the general public due to exclusive growing rights of patents with Washington State University.
