THe two original seedling leaves turned silver on EVERY cucumber plant I have. They all sat for about 10 days doing nothing, I was about to till them in, then they all sprouted the first set of real leaves a week ago. So, whats the silver (it made the leaves feel dry and dead) and will it affect production?

I wouldn't worry about it. The first leaves die off most of the time anyhow, so as long as the rest of the plant looks good, I think it should be OK.

My only fear is that it may be powdery mildew- hopefully, not! Enjoy your cukes!

My squash got those silver leaves once it started getting flowers. I thought it was a sign of maturity and production.

I would just let them be.

Have fun!
