This year I am trying a new variety of cucumber...something called picklebush. They started out fine, nice and green, lot's of blooms. But recently, the plants are looking very...old. The leaves are yellowing and the plants have slowed to nearly no growth. There is no sign of powdery mildew, no wilting, no insect pressure. It just seems like the plants are giving it up for the year. I'm very unhappy with this variety. Has anyone else grown it and experienced this?

Are you getting enough rain, Monty? Mine seem to really start to jump again after a good rain. (If you are in the flooding area, I apologize for my question)

I tried them one year, did not have much luck with them either and threw the seeds away. Very low yield was my complaint.

The best luck that I have had is with the old standby Marketmore. I don't have the problem of 'way too many cukes' that most people have. With Marketmore I have great success.

I usually plant Homemade Pickles. They always do well for me. I think the days to maturity is pretty short if i remember correctly, less than 60 days. I'm going to dig around in the seed boxes and see if I can find a few. I've grown Marketmore as slicers, but never used them as picklers. Do they pickle well?
