Cucumbers turning yellow

What would cause my cucumbers to grow like a round ball and turn yellow?

Maybe you got lemon cucumbers instead of the one's you were expecting? I have some of these planted but they haven't started making cucumbers yet.

Hi lisa! Welcome! Mine do that too. I think it is because of lack of rain- or too much heat. I cut mine in half and serve to the chickens!

Here I thought I was being all helpful and stuff, thinking that the cucumbers must have been mislabeled or something! I didn't know regular cucumbers did that!

I would trust Lesa's response as this is my first time growing cucumbers and my pickling cucumbers are just starting to grow (they're very cute right now - only about half an inch long). There's a lot for me to learn about growing vegetables and the people on this forum have been so great.

My first thought was lemon cucumbers too, I didn't know "regular" cucumbers would do that.
