we had a couple members confused over where a boston butt and ham came from

so here's a basic breakdown of all those delicious meats we eat.. fyi

Good to know! We have butchered our own deer the whole 15 years I've been married, but we always had the tenderloin and the backstrap names switched up. Saw a chart on deer cuts, straightened me right out. Started cubing, breading and pan frying my backstrap steaks this year. I'd rather have that than filet mignon. Smothered in peppered gravy...oh yeah! :drool

Never have eaten the tail on a chicken or turkey before, even though there is some meat on there. Heard Martha Stewart refer to it as the "parson's nose". :sick No use for the feet either. Know where those have been, lol. I do keep the hearts and gizzards for stock. Love fresh chicken livers.

Wash the chicken feet real good, scald, peel, cut off toenails and simmer several hours. Makes awesome broth.
