Hmm.. I'm starting to wonder if they did close.. I made an order on 2/18 and outside of an automated message saying the order was in-process I've heard nothing since.. Is this normal for them? This was the first time I've placed an order with them.. Anyone?

They're still open, and posting on facebook daily. I did get my order very quickly, but that was back in December, i'm sure they're much busier now. What is it that you ordered?? I think i'd leave a message, or email to see if there was a glitch.

Ok.. I just called them up finally (probably should have done that sooner) and spoke with one of the staff and it turns out that one of the items in my order (the 'black-egg' variety of eggplant) was on back-order from their supplier which was holding the order up. I changed it over to 'black beauty' instead and she indicated the order will go out today. Yay!

I think in hind sight if I were to order again (likely), I'll check with them perhaps a few days after the orders been placed to see if anything is holding up the order -- it'd be nice though if their system would do that automatically as I've not received an email from them in a month since it was marked as 'in-processing'.. Anyway, now I can get the rest of the garden growing once these arrive..

I agree, these days it seems like an auto email of something being backordered is pretty standard. I love their catalogs, they tossed a few old ones in with my order, which i really appreciated because i love the artwork.

I get email newsletters from Landreths. The owner seems very excited to be taking good care of Landreth's. I think they will do well. It'd sure be neat if she could gather all the varieties Landreth's has ever cataloged and have them all available. Some varieties such as the original hybrid Golden Hubbard Squash which was not made by first inbreeding the parent lines, but hybridized the old fashioned way, brushing a male flower on a female flower of well selected parent plants made much more vigorous Golden Hubbard hybrid squash than presently available. Add to that, it was ok to save seed from the hybrid if you did not mind getting some Blue Hubbards, some striped Hubbards, some green ones, and some Golden ones, all of various sizes, some shaped a bit differently, and yes, you got some Golden Hubbards in the 2nd generation and after. They did good old fashioned hybrids like that.
