Just when I thought the temperatures were getting close to normal for this time of year they are predicting weather back up to 90 for next week. Are we going to have Summer all Winter this year?

We've got the opposite going on here. We were supposed to be back in the 70's this week, but it's been cloudy, windy and cool. I don't mind the cool, but can do without the cloud and wind!

Dad Gum It

:)

Hoss used to say that on Bonanza!

"Dad Gum It Little Joe, you're gonna get us in trouble again"

We have us some heavy clouds hiding about half the stars, and the sky is turning blue toward where sunrise will be. It was a nice dark walk in the garden an hour ago. Air has a bit of moistness in it.

I think if I lived in a hot region I'd just be a daysleeper night person. Too much hot makes my body almost burn painfully from my hyperthyroid anymore.

The damp cloudy windy days energize me, for some reason. A sunny, low humidity day makes me want to sleep. Must be something to do with the barometric pressure, but I've never kept notes on it, to be sure.

As I remember from living in Montana, some Montanans start complaining how cold it is in October. I was always reminding them that it is 20 ABOVE not below like in January. October is the month to get used to the cold again up there. Seems that sometime just before Halloween is when I started using the long johns or sweat pants under my jeans.

It rained . . .

. . . 0.03 of an inch . . .

By the time I looked at the radar map to see if there was any small chance of a little more coming - the storm was skedaddling off over the Rockies! (Probably something else Hoss would say, "Let's skedaddle outta here Little Joe! Oh boy, Pa's goin' to be mad!"

Anyway, records set with no rain at some of the weather stations around here: Moscow/Pullman airport, it has been 83 days without rain. That's right in the middle of the Palouse Hills wheat country. The farmers are going to be praying for adequate soil moisture for spring wheat because they may have lost the chance for growing winter wheat this year.

Moses Lake sounds wet, right? It is in the middle of Washington State and there is desert or semi-desert on all sides - and some very productive irrigated farmlands. Well, Moses Lake has also gone 83 days without rain.

Here, we had 1/8th of an inch of August rain and nothing in September. The Weather Service says that there's a 70% chance of rain by tomorrow night with more coming Monday & Tuesday! Oh, Thank Heavens!

That is so true. I am avoiding venturing out-it is a beautiful day though and I am on my way... This temperature will seem like heaven in March or on a unseasonably warm day in February.

Here in SW Wash. no rain ( 2 slight drizzles about a month ago) and 83 days without measureable rainfall. The prediction for last Fri. ( yesterday) was scattered and spotty showers... well we got a record rain fall for the date of 1.06" . :th Overcast now with a predicted few showers today and rain for Sun., heavy rain for Mon. :throw

If you lived in Texas, and only came out at night, you would only have to worry about getting moonburn! :lau
