I just looked on my calendar and it shows that March 17 has sunrise and sunset at the same time, 6:10. In September, it is the same on the 26th: 5:52.
I am wondering if these almanac calendars are printed for different regions of the country. What do your calendars say for you who live in the east or west?

We have an extra minute on you, So Lucky. Seems like we could call that date an equinox instead of doing too much in the way of averaging ... Like @thistlebloom 's stockdog that "rounds up" thirty sheep but the shepherd only counts 26. Ha!

Our 12 hour fall day will be the 25th of September.

Northern areas will really begin to "outshine" you, there in Missouri - thru the spring and summer. I checked: In just one month, So Lucky will have 13 hours and 15 minutes while I will be basking in 13 hours and 47 minutes! :) We will be ahead of you by more than a half an hour and you are only gonna see a distant flash of color from us by the summer solstice :)!
