I only get to country house 4 times a month. The orchard is not covered by automatic sprinklers. last weekend my father was up and I did not get a chance to check orchard.Today all apple trees I planted this spring looked bad. I don't think they will make it. The established trees looked ok. The rain barrel was empty have a feeling drought this summer.

That's too bad. I hope they don't die, sometimes they make a comeback. It's still early enough that if there are still live roots they may be able to push some more growth.

Have you ever seen these tree bags?

Try to give them all a deep soak once per week. I have tortured many trees and bushes in pots, lingering too long waiting on me to plant. They can even lose leaves and still come back.
