Awesome grapes! Now you will have to take some cuttings and start a new orchard! Have you read up on rooting grape cuttings?

So what is this we are suppose to see down below? Is that Poison Oak/Ivy..I am not familiar with it at all.

Or, ...is it some of that berry you identified recently?

Poison ivy, dang it! I think perhaps I can suite up with gloves and all then go pull it all up.

Now to figure out how to start/grow Muscadine....

Hey Joe! How's 'bout some muscadine wine?

I wonder how many times I have trampled through Poison Ivy or Oak and didn't even know it.

So, you know I am going to scream like a girl when you finally discover Wild Elderberry! :ya

Ever since Elderberry Champagne was mentioned, I have wanted to try to make it.

Here is the Recipe just so I can torture someone else like I have been tortured...since the only Elders here are the Mexican Elder, and it isn't the right one for the job.

SCREAM Ron SCREAM !!! I'm surrounded by wild elderberry trees.....!!!!!

Eldeflower champagne is delicious but pretty dangerous to make as it is VERY EXPLOSIVE, so you waste quite a bit.

For my 50th birthday years ago I decided to give a big party & thought it would be fun to make elrerflower champagne but the weather turned very hot about a week before & the champagne must have started fermenting again & the moment you touched a bottle (to put them in the fridge to cool) it went off like a bomb........!! You must put it in very strong bottles with those swing-top lids, like old beer bottles.

What an Explosive Birthday Hattie!!

How funny that must of been when the first blast went off...LOL :celebrate

I am sorry! This is what I deserve when it is my turn. Now to find someone to send me wild elderberries. I am looking for the bramble, roadside type that get 4ft in a season and fill with flowers and then black berries...

Are your tree-type like our Mexican Elder? Ours makes blue berries.

Great deal! I should come help you get that poison Ivy out of there, it don't bother me much.

Funny The bad stuff don't bother me yet the grapes I am allergic to! I love grapes but if I eat them I would look something like this..

It takes a lot of grapes to make a batch of wine. Time to get my carboys cleaned up and ready. To hot during the summer time for me to make any wine. With the weather is cooling off (soon) I will start a batch.

I have a thread about wine on BYC somewere. I will look for it when I get a chance.

I wasn't sure I had enough grapes for wine, so I made a pyment (mead with grapes). It is bubbling away slowly. I only made 2 gallons. It was pretty tasty after I cooked down the grapes and added the honey. Hopefully the finished product will be good. Cross your fingers for me :D
