Here is my potato harvest... I know they are very small. But... I am surprised they grew at all. I got all these from five or six potatoes that sprouted in the bin.
Don't laugh... I grew these myself!

Looks good. I will be glad to get that many from my sprouted blue potatoes. I have been sticking my finger in the dirt feeling around and actually feel some potatoes bigger than what was planted. They were just little bitty shriveled up things.

I sometimes look at "normal" people (you know, non-gardeners) and wonder, do they have any idea where food comes from? Wouldn't they appreciate their own and all life more if they did?
There isnt a much better way to know that gardens grow food than bringing in potatoes!

Oh I'd NEVER laugh at someone's yield; if for no other reason than pretty much ANYONE's is greater than mine. That pile of potatoes is probably 50x the total production of ALL the potatoes I have ever gotten in my garden in my best year. And to put it in persepctiveThis is a photo of my garlic harvest from two years ago, ALL of it
And bear in mind that that was a GOOD garlic year for me (and that garlic is a GREAT producer for me;....when compared to pretty much EVERYTHING else I grow (which should give you and idea of how productive the rest of my garden is) ; the last two have been worse. The actual bulbs have gotten a tad bigger (though bigger in this case means "about marble sized) but I've just plain LOST about 3/4 of the planted bulbs each year to one problem or another so by now my total planting pile for each year is around 15-20 bulbs (no new material I've added has actually taken, so what I have now is still entirely the descendants of the original planting. This year may be particularly bad; now that some of the cloves are old enough to scape they seem to have gone into a Hail Mary Suicide mode wherein they are putting ALL their energy into the scape and making no bulb AT ALL (I stuck my finger down along side most of them yesterday, and 90% of them are still smooth and straight (and the farmers markets have had fully bulbed green garlic available here for months so there is no way mine is just being slow.
And as a final stinger, even if any of the stuff did make a head (the above is rounds, as of this point none of the stock has "broken" yet it won't be of much use as on top of everything else, THIS is what what I planted looks like as a full multicloved head. Yes, that is a bottlecap it is sitting by (and that head is about 12-15 cloves, when this stuff breaks, it breaks hard)

No laughing here. I can't believe you where able to grow any in the desert! They look yummy. Will be awhile before we can dig ours.

Awww, they're so cute! And they're potatoes! Knowing you they'll be made into some perfectly beautiful meal. We expect more pictures Rebbetzin!

I think tiny is cute! I was checking to see if my potatoes needed watering so I pulled back the mulch. I saw 2 big potatoes! The plant still looks green and healthy so I don't know if I should harvest or not. Another problem I have is that they are in a container that has a squash plant in it. I don't know how I'm gonna get them out without disturbing the squash. At the time I planted the squash, I carefully checked the soil for any itty bitty potatoes and I swear there were none!
