Past 2 weeks I have been having a lot of problems getting service at work and home with my old flip phone. Driving me crazy, guys at work hook up with WIFI and get service. I think it is time for new phone. I tx and call about the same what phone do you have ? What do you like or hate about it?

iPhone.

Hate:

Have to take $100 Apple Care if you want any service-you will want service.
Learning curve to use especially with Windows based computers.
Ownership, as they promote certain things I don't appreciate. I've voiced my opinion to them and they seemed to stop it as they wouldn't like labels that would have been attached to Apple.
Their "stores" are filled with arrogant individuals that are "too good" to handle simple things.

Love:
Apple care is very responsive-get what you pay for.
Great App mix.
Once learned, easy to use for more things than you can appreciate now.

Bottom line, like it. Use it to organize my schedule, address book, directions, etc.....l

I've got AT&T, they will give you a signal booster for home or your business that only approved phones can use.

Smart phones do not have the ability to catch a signal as well as a flip phone. Takes much better signal with smart phones.

I have Verizon and I got their cheapest smart phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy J-something-something.
I didn't find the learning curve steep at all, and the more you mess with it the more intuitive it seems.

I don't know why I avoided a smart phone for so long (well I do but turns out the reason was irrelevant as it isn't costing me as much as I imagined it would).

I use the mapping occasionally, text a lot, send and receive pix and videos, use the memo function for work notes and grocery lists and sometimes go online. DH and I share 500 megabytes/month and we never even get close to using that up. I make sure my mobile data is turned off unless I specifically am going to need it for mapping or online use.

I like the camera better than my digital camera, even though it is lower in megapixels it still takes a better image. Texting is a lot easier.

Your phone plan sells you so much air time to surf the net or to use different apps. Go over your allotment, here comes another fee. I have a 15GB plan with 2 kids on it. I use about 2GB, son-3-4GB, daughter will take up rest. If we go over, been close, it's her bill.

If not using an APP, don't let it use time as they love to keep track of you. If you get an IPhone, we can talk about what apps and how to turn off-real easy.

On Plans, beware of "no limit" data. While they wont cut you off, they will SLOW your data transfer or bandwidth. It's like going from DSL to dial up in country with old wiring.

Iphones are so over rated. Who on Gods Green Earth actually needs an $800+ phone?
My Apple friend has been trying to persuade me for years to drink the Kool-Ade. My $179 phone is plenty good enough, and if I had been a new Verizon customer I could have gotten a free one. It does more stuff than I will ever ever want or need to do.

I have unlimited talk and text, and don't need unlimited data as we don't even use half of the base amount.

Agree, over rated. Thing was-nobody hacked Apple products because of great security and many more Window based phones/computers to attack. Apple WAS an industry leader, now an industry follower. Now, they say, let someone else invent the new program/phone/computer and Apple will perfect it.

The more you use APPs, the more you appreciate IPhones. Galaxy phones are now seen as industry leaders. I hate the size-as I do the large IPhone. For someone that is Windows comfortable, Galaxy probably better. Some of the other smart phones had real issues which is why they are almost out of business.
