My Asian neighbor made a delicious cooked dish with bolted lettuce, not the leaves but the stalk. really yummy. I have some lettuce seed (Asian) from Ricthers stashed somewhere that is grown for the stalk, not leaves.
He also made a side dish with one potato, cut in the tiniest slivers cooked but still crispy, again yummy. He could also do that pasta thing where you rolled and stretched, and flung the noodle up in the air until it was very long, then into boiling water all in one piece. He wanted to teach me how to do it but knowing me it would have had to be scraped off the ceiling .
