Had some problem with blossom end rot on some of my tomatoes last year. I have been grinding up egg shells all winter, and have quite a collection.
My question is when to apply. Should I till it into the soil now, or wait until I am transplanting my tomatoes? It will be a good two months before last frost.

I've had that same thing on my tomatoes. My MIL got be some stuff at Lowes - don't remember the name - but it specifically stated it was for blossom end rot. I just sprayed the plant with it. It worked quite well.

I put crushed oyster shell in the bottom of the hole, mixed in with a little dirt, when I planted mine. I'm sure egg shells could be used the same way.

Lesa...Cynthia from Love Apple Farm, who grows over 100 different heirloom tomatoes for sell recommends the same thing as Amy. Put the crushed egg shells in the hole.

Of course she also recommends putting in a fish head, aspirin, organic fertilizer, and I can't remember what else. It's on her website.
