Employee Just Gave Notice

I think i jinxed myself in another thread. One of my guys who has been with me over 10 years wants to move. He wants to be closer to his kids. He will work till mid Jan giving me time to find replacement. The older I get the less I like breaking in someone new. Happy New Year

I feel for you Alex, this jinx thing is catching. I just mentioned how mild our weather has been for this time of year in another thread and low and behold I look out the window and guess what...it's snowing .

well at least he gave you a 3-4 week notice... better than most employees would do...
you can't blame him for wanting to be closer to family...

hope you can get indoor plumbing installed for the replacement starts.....

It sucks to lose an employee that has worked for you for so long. But you can't blame him, heck, we moved to be close to our daughter and grand daughters. I hope you don't have to run through a lot of employees to find another like him.

Good employees are hard to find but hopefully there is still one out there for you. Ask your employees if they know anyone who might be interested. They know what it takes so would know if it's a good fit. Good luck.

I can not blame him at all, because he gave me notice he will get a nice check when he leaves. My head groomer said he has a friend who wants the job. I do not like hiring friends, but meeting him tomorrow.

Too bad your so far, I'd love to drop the solo accounting thang and get back to doing something creative with actual coworkers to talk to. Used to be a fair groomer back in the day..... way, way, way back in the day.

One of my favorite groomer was a woman, she told me she loved the fact everyone one else was male. She did not like working with other woman
