My wife started a 2 week "tech trec" science camp for 8th grade girls on full scholership in Cal. then in Wa. and now she is taking it natioanl for American Association of University Women. This past summer she had a camp at a university near Seattle so she rented a 2015 Sedona4 x 2 LX from Enterprise Rent a Car to haul supplies, girls to various locations, and to run around as needed for 2 weeks. While she was parked in the university parking lot near the dorms, someone did a black smudge ( like from a oversize tire of a high riding pick up on the driver's side front fender. When she returned the car, she paid $250 at Enterprise's request to cover buffing out of the smudge. Other than the smudge , there was NO OTHER DAMAGE. My wife put in a claim with " The Hartford" , our insurance company. Now 3 months later, we get a not so nice love letter from Enterprise, dated Nov. 2 to pay $ 1,313.22 within 10 days from the date of that letter or they will turn it in to a collection company as well as credit bureaus. We received this letter late last Friday. ... $847.85 for damages ( insurance company for Enterprise owned by Enterprise Holdings, Inc. , for paint, labor, and storage for 4 days ... instead of buffing out the smudge) $121.14 tax, $100 admintrative fees, $409.45 for loss of use, $ 84.78 for diminishment of value ( if the car is repaired , how is the value diminished ) .Hartford has already paid $ 211 to enterprise ,but is holding back the rest to investigate inapropirate charges. We have already paid $ 250 at time of return of car, and another $250 on Nov. 1 to satisfy our $500 deductable. My wife left 2 messages with the enterprise rent a car which they have NOT returned. I just talked to Hartford insurance and they are investigating this trumped up billing and inform us in writing of the results. I will go to the car repair company to get photos, and detailed billing and to confirm that if this car repair company is in fact owned by enterprise holdings. Possible Attorney for the Hartford investigation as well as District Attorney involvement for fraud. Any ideas to explore ??? :caf

I read a sunday column in the Travel section of the Sac Bee. About every 6 weeks there is a rental car dispute. The columnist's suggestion is to always start at the TOP of the agency's command center. Let me go look for the article...

Here is the author. See if you can find his columns and get the pertinant info on Enterprise.
