Epsom Salt in the garden?

Last year I added Epsom Salt to the hole before planting the tomatoes, I have read the addition of Magnesium sulfate would help the plants. We had a bumper crop, I don't know if it was the addition of Epsom salt for sure, but I added it again this year.

What's your thought, have you heard this? Have your done this?

I did it before I got my soils analysis. Now I know I don't need to because the magnesium is already there. That's a fairly common practice.

I don't use it on my tomatoes, haven't seen a need for it there. But on my FIL's advice, I started using it with my newly transplanted pepper plants. It makes for bigger, thicker walled fruit there.

Where do you all purchase yours? I have thought of ordering online in bulk but I'm wondering if it is cheaper elsewhere- maybe WalMart?

HPQ I get mine at Dollar General.
I use epsom salts to stop BER.
I use it on peppers and tomatoes.

I use Epsom in my tomato holes and it works. Looks like I may have to start putting in with peppers also!

Wifey buys it, not sure where. I'm going to use it on my peppers too, they didn't do well.

Walmart, dollar store...it's kinda like buying peroxide or rubbing alcohol, it's so cheap and basically the quality is the same no matter where you get it.

You all have talked me into to tossing a little in with my tomatoes too.
