Now I know there is already a topic for boring, interesting, or exciting weather, but this forecast for my area of northern California is just WEIRD.

It says on Tuesday it'll get to 78. Ok, that's around the warmest to expect for this time of year around here.

But for Wednesday it says it's going to get 86 degrees! Now that's what we expect around here June thru September. Ok, maybe late May. But 86 degrees in early April? That's more Hoodat's or Bay's, or Southern's weather for this time of year.

By the way, is everyone else having trouble with national weather service's website?

=====

Wallp, time to plant some Bean seeds. I will indeed plant a few outside with plastic if it hits even 80. I will, and it will be 3 weeks earlier than I have ever planted Beans outside in my life.

Nova Star pole would be the first outside planted pole beans, not sure which will be the first bush. Red Seeded Borlotto?

Marshall, the Weather Service webpages are working fine for me.

Potter Valley, CA: They have Tuesday at 73 and Wednesday at 80. It is interesting that you may have lows in the 30's. Mountain weather.

The Weather Channel seems to want to generate as much excitement about weather as possible. Still, all those afternoon highs in the 70's looks like spring has really popped for your neck of the woods!

The weather maps for 8 to 10 day look like you might be right on the border of above & below normal temps:

Another thing about that weather channel forecast is it does not pinpoint to right where I am.

My lows in the mornings are consistently 10 degrees ABOVE the lows for Potter Valley. Yes, even though I'm what, 1,500 feet higher. The lake here and the lake basin, plus being on the west side that gets the full early morning sunrise seems to bring my lows up somehow.

I'll try that nws site again! This morning it was all goofed up.

That happened to us here last year...several steady days of 80 degree weather in mid-March.

Ya know, a Horse Forum friend of mine followed the Farmer's Almanac weather predictions and bought ALL of her hay for 2012-2013 winter in May. She lives in NE and later last year the drought made growing hay IMPOSSIBLE. I'm back to following the FA. They had real bragging rights bc their 2013 forecast was correct.

Wow, little tiny world! Potter Valley is a small hamlet town, kind of spread out, and my address is called Potter Valley even though I live in the next county east, 20 actual road miles from Hopper's Corner store.

The extreme weather they predicted is not at all like what they said! Ooooph, both the weather channel and national weather service were way off.

We have our normal temperatures, blue sky, nary a cloud, but WWHOOOOOSH* lots of wind gusts followed by still as the moon.

It is suppose to be a "Mostly Sunny" day!

Wow! I was beginning to give up on the idea of seeing the sun for about 2 weeks, between reality and the forecasts!

Right at freezing now and do you know what temperature is inside my unheated structures? 34F . . .

Well, I'll trade that for some sunlight. I can get any temperature I want in those hoop houses if the bright yellow sun will stay out! And . . . they will hold onto it better if they aren't peaking at a cool 52 after a day of gray.

Steve
who might even be able to get away from here this afternoon and do some gardening!
