I have written my summer garden off, and was out there today pulling up dead stuff. Among the weeds I found some purple basil that I didn't plant, cardinal climber that I didn't plant, and zinnias that I didn't plant. I actually had the weed eater out there trying to find the ground. Had to work carefully around the volunteers.
Major, are you going to put stuff in a cold frame? I didn't think there would be enough sunshine now to get much matured out in the open. Except maybe lettuce, spinach and radishes.
With the lower humidity and temps the last two days, I have actually had some energy. I was beginning to think I was ready for the old folks home. A fall garden doesn't seem so much of a stretch to me today.....

@so lucky yes will be doing the low tunnels again this year, just for some plastic it sure does extend the season, once the real multi day hard freezes come thats it for certain things others just laugh it off...

last nov first real cold snap.. going to change a few things around this winter just going to use 3 of the big beds and 1 smaller bed
