so what are they and why? I'm drooling over seed catalogs. Really want a good Italian pepper.

For me-gypsy. Bears fruit like a banana but has meat of bell.

"Hot Peppers! Herb of the Year for 2016." Richter's Herb & Vegetable does have a few new ones. Amongst what we usually think of as herbs, herbs, herbs!

I'm okay with thinking of hot peppers as herbs. I wonder why they have Bird's Eye Thai listed in two places ... Kitazawa has peppers but, ... no new ones ... The Thai peppers are a little bit like you don't know what you've got until you've got 'em. They have always been fine.

Super Chili is a hybrid. Consistent! And, productive and early/early!

Gypsy is a good one altho it's been several years since I've had it. I do like the Italians! I've read that any with a Caribbean name, is an Italian, too. Biscayne was a good one but DW didn't seem to like peppers with that like green color! She's so funny about colors! I know, I'm funny about names ...

Oh hey!

Carmen. It's a real nice Italian sweet.

I get mixed up about it in garden, too. I think because the plant is smaller - it matures early. However, I haven't always marked the plants and harvest them green with the other Italian sweet (notably, Marconi).

Hi, There is one or two hot- ish peppers i grow and like. Cascabellas, because mom and I use to get them at a pastrami sandwich stands after working on the apartments. Pepperonchini and maybe one or two more that I'll think of when I wake up a bit.
Sweet, I like bells, cubanelles how ever you spell them, bananas and an Armenian pepper that is finger thin and long.
I like peppers in general they're friendly and nice to have around. Most chilly peppers to me are hot but don't have a good flavor. I like flavorful peppers, there are a few very nice ones.

I like the sweet Red Marconi, they bear a lot of peppers. I like cayenne peppers, I like to slice them and can in a heavy syrup. Hot pepper candy! I eat them out of the jar with a spoon!

Hoping someone would suggest Marconi. Grew couple of plants couple of years ago. Remember them sweet like a bell.

I like to eat yellow bell, but I have not grown any. I always end up picking too early. Sunsation is one that I am trying again. I end up picking too early, but I had one that was slightly yellow and the flavor was really nice. I like Cubanella and I seem to have good luck with them.
