This is my first attempt at the square foot garden. Tell me what you think, and any suggestions you may have. I am also planning on growing some t hings on the trellis but havent yet got that ready. There are also my tomato plants I dont have my cages around them yet . Havent decided what I want to use. Any good suggestions besides the regular old wire ones that dont really hold up.

Looks good (love the dogs supervising!). Check out The Square Foot Garden web site-tons of great advice specific to SFG over there.

This is my second year using SFG, and I love it. :love

Very nice job! I think you will be very happy with your results. Are the tomatoes planted in the 5 gallon buckets? Happy Gardening!

It looks really nice. Enjoy your produce!

I'm experimenting with SFG for the first time this year.My mother bought "Square Foot Gardening" by Mel Bartholemew at a yard sale.It makes sense.I used to watch the TV show years ago.

I like the little to no weeding aspect. In my location,I think I can keep something growing year round.

In responce about the tomatoes, they are not planted in the buckets , i've just got the buckets partialy underground to make for easier watering later.

I had got that same book from the libary a couple of months back and thought I'd give this a try. Am also going to try to trellis some stuff too. I like the no weeding too. Will see how it goes.

Sorry- still not computing. Are they planted in the buckets and then buried in the dirt? Is the bottom cut out of the bucket?

Those would be good for keeping cutworms and such out!! Good Job on everything! I had such a bad crop of tomato last year that I went and got 5 gallon buckets from Firehouse Subs for $2. They are from the pickles they use. They are red too. I just put a drip in each of them today. The only one that produced for me last year was in a pot. Sooooo why not put them all in pots right?
