First bean harvest!

I picked my first batch of beans this evening, I was expecting just enough for supper but after I was done I harvested 4lbs and 2 oz, canning time is here!!

Looks great trunkman!! Thats a lot of green beans ;)
I like eating them first blanched then I add garlic, olive oil, parsley and salt, maybe even a little lemon juice. But I'm sure they'll taste fine too canned.

Trust me, I'll keep you posted, the chickens have made a big difference in my gardens, everything is greener and growing much better than in past years, what a difference!

They look delicious Trunkman.....so far, I've planted beans 3 times because we can't keep that pesky cottontail rabbit out of the garden! He keeps finding a hole in the fence somewhere...thinking the shotgun is the answer :tools

When did you plant them? I'm still trying to figure out gardening in the southeast... you're north of me, so I must be LATE on the beans, mine are just starting to flower!
