Louisiana Dark Red Kidney, bush/dry, was the first bean this year to ripen dry beans.
July 14th. It's not quite the earliest I've ever had dry beans. I've gotten dry beans on July 10th before. Seeds were mostly planted earlier this year, but I was not planting the quickest varieties first this year.
A few other varieties will be real soon. Little Brown Cat and Vermont Appaloossa each have some pods in various stages of late shelly to almost dry.
Among the pole Beans, Nova Star will be first to ripen dry.
