Congrats! Having your very own eggs is so-o-o-o-o better than store-bought. I think my girls are starting to pick up in their egg laying with the increasing sunlight.

That’s a real good feeling isn’t it? I’ve got a couple of pullets that just started to lay in the last week. That brings my average up to about 6 a day.

Good for her!.. and you :p

It is kind of funny, you'd think after the first hundred or so chickens it wouldn't be a big deal, but every time a new pullet lays her first egg it makes me so happy. :p You always get exited and proud of them. :)

And sometimes they're so proud of themselves!

Kudos on the first egg!! :celebrate I've had chickens for several years now and I never fail to get excited by those little pullet eggs (I call them chicken farts). :hide Or if a sex link-those humongus double yolkers! I got two layers to start with and they went into a molt. I bought ONE dozen store eggs and when the hens started laying again 3 months later, I still had one of those eggs left! (gave it to the dog)

I am so glad you have fresh eggs now!

i wish my ladies were laying like they used to. dh had to buy store eggs this week. only 1 girl seems to be laying and i think it's the only pullet i hatched last year. everyone looks like they have stopped molting and feathers have grown back, so here's hoping soon i will see more than 1 egg every other day in the box. i can't wait for my 2 peahens to start laying those gorgeous extra large eggs again!

Give them a light bulb and you will get an egg in a week or two.
