I used to happily turn up on the river as spring runoff fell, harvesting as much wild asparagus as I wanted. Since 2 different gardens bordered public land along the river, it hardly made sense for me to grow any ... Then I learned of the heavy metal contamination from mining upstream . My wild harvesting came to an end! Steve
