You would never know from the nice clear sky that we have so many fires burning all around us here. My daughter in Colorado was complaining of all the smoke in the air the other day from the Arizona fires,
Here are a couple of her photos to show me what she was seeing up there.

This is how it normally looks.

And this is how it looked on June 7 2011

The winds carried the smoke away from us, I heard on the news they were detecting smoke in the Midwest from our fires here in Arizona.

I love sunflowers. :love Wow, that second pic is creepy, how dark and hazy the sky is. Have you had to stay indoors because of the air pollution?

Thankfully the way the winds blow, we are not getting any smoke. Plus there is a range of mountians between us and most of the fires. The one directly south of us is pretty much contained now. The ones towards the East are not even close to being contained, and there are over 100 temps and high winds forcast for this weekend. Not good!! The fire is heading towards New Mexico now.

It is very sad, most of our beautiful forests will be gone now for the next 50 to 100 years!! I loved it up in the White Mountians! Alpine forests, small lakes, streams and meadows... May most favorite town, Greer, is badly burned.

Pretty, pretty! I have a hard time looking at the Sunflower. Around here, that means fall is near and the end of a growing season. I hope for you it means just another beautiful flower!

By fall, our single headed sunflowers are long gone! The native ones that have many flowers per plant. They stay around all summer.
