Do you prefer to plant flowers or vegetables? Are you able to incorporate vegetables in an aesthetic way or do you have a very traditional-looking vegetable garden?
I have a kitchen garden just outside my frong window and it has caused quite a stir with everyone who comes to visit. It is aesthetically beautiful and productive as well. I love to get fresh vegetables from this garden and it's just big enough.
I really do not have a preference. Both have such beauty. However, plants are more successful around here because of the dogs. Flowers do not really stand a chance.
We have numerous flower beds throughout our property. We also have 1 very large vegetable garden and several pots that we plant tomatoes in. I plant both and I always will. Planting veggies would be my choice though if I had to choose. We eat a ton of fresh veggies, we also can and freeze the extra's.
I enjoy both. In my front yard, it's only flowers since I want the color and curb appeal there. In the back I've had vegetables, mostly in containers so far, but I'm working on building at least one good size raised bed to plant a larger garden this year. I love fresh vegetables but my soil is terrible in my backyard.
I also like both flower and vegetable gardens. I prefer the vegetable garden, though. My wife would probably say she prefers the flowers. I just like working hard on something I can eat later. My garden is pretty large, and I would say it is traditional.
I like flowers, but you can not eat most flowers. I have always been raised to can fruits and vegetables for the upcoming winter, so I prefer a vegetable garden. I was wondering, what does a nontraditional garden look like?
