Just internet is a reflection of our own world. You can find a lot of things. It all depends on what you are looking for. And this virtual world also depends on whether that you're willing to give to this.
I would have wary if my child had online - friends. This is not for children.
I know a lot of stories of disappointment. But I also know a few happy stories, stories of friendship, love and marriage.
I have excellent communication in real life, and I have often chat with pleasure in internet . With those people I like. Of course, I do not know the detail. I do not know if they like to inhale the aroma of fresh bread, like laughing or sad. Perhaps they do not like to open cans. Or they wonder where the second toe has disappeared from the washing machine as I do. Perhaps someone crying at night and in the morning said that he is doing well. I do not see a tear-stained eyes. However, "to catch emotions" is quite real. And "give emotion" is quite real.
I always feel your kindness, Carol Dee. And also a lot of other good things here of course, it is a consolation to me.
