I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, Zone 6-ish. Is it too late to plant blue forget-me-nots here, from seed? Any tips for doing so?

Is it too late to dig, divide, and replant beared irises here? Any tips for doing so?

And is it the right time to plant Oriental lilies and gladiolas that have oversummered in pots? Any suggestions for doing so? Some of the lilies and glads in pots bloomed this summer. Others just sat there but have bulbs that are green.

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure forget-me-nots will grow enough to flower this year, but seed planted now will over winter and get an early start for next year. Or, plant the seed in a "nursery" in small pots and transplant where you want them early next spring.

It is not too late to dig, divide, and replant iris as long as you make sure the newly planted rhizomes get plenty of water for a good start before winter steps in. WHen I moved mine, I dug the all up, kept them in a plastic sled under a wet tarp while I tilled and prepped their new home. Then I replanted the rhizomes I had room for (and wanted) Free-cycling the rest.

It is important that the roots don't dry out too much although iris are pretty forgiving of neglect when replanting.

The mail order catalogs are selling lilies right now so replanting them now is a perfect time. I've no experience with planting glads outside for overwintering so I can't help you there at all.

Good luck!

I did not get my forget-me-nots planted. Is it too late? I read that they can be planted through September, and we are only a little over 1 week into October?

It is to be warm here, in the upper 70s for at least a week.
