I have a packet of forget-me-not seeds that came with a magazine. On the back of the seed packet, there is a sticker with an ad for the magazine covering the planting instructions.

I've searched online and I'm finding conflicting information about where to plant (sun, shade, part sun) and what type of soil, etc.

Any advice on what to do with them would be great!:)

I would direct seed them, as soon as you can work the soil. I don't think you will see flowers this season- but they will be ready for next spring. I love forget-me-nots! They are among the first signs of spring here...

There really are 3 or 4 plants that are called forget me not.

The main and normally considered real forget me not is called myosotis if i recall.

3 common kinds are, Wood, Alpine, and Field. I think all of them are short lived perennials. One kind is called Alaskan, but I thought they were identical to Alpine.

seems to be good info, and Lesa's seems good too!!!

We always grew them from plants.

Myosotis from the Greek: "mouse's ear", after the leaf) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae (or Cynoglossum family)that are commonly called Forget-me-nots. Its common name was calqued from the French, ne m'oubliez pas and first used in English. Similar names and variations are found in many languages. Hope this info help you. ;)
