we got a light frost where wind didn't hit. Surprised as it was not suppose to get anywhere near cold enough. Anyone else get frost?

Me frost? This time of year? You have to be kidding. Right? :plbb

It was in the upper 30's this morning with no wind but I didn't see any frost. I'm trying to get another round of basil and parsley in the dehydrator before we get frost, a frost will destroy both of those. I'll need to dig my sweet potatoes before a frost too, if they get frosted on before I harvest them they won't store at all. And I'm still getting some tomatoes and peppers. A frost on them is not good. My "first freeze date" is supposed to be the end of the month but we were flirting with a frost this morning. Tomorrow morning it is again supposed to be in the upper 30's but after that it warms back up. I should be safe for quite a while according to the 10 day forecast. But thanks for your concern.

Shocked you got that cold. Thinking other northerners might have gotten it.

It was 37 degrees (F) when I drove Maverick to his cross-country meet and Gypsy to the Farmers' Market. I haven't checked my own place (I am on higher ground) but I saw a lot of frost during the ride.

No frost warnings were predicted for my area and I'd planned to put out protection for my tenders later today since Saturday night has warnings. Hopefully, I haven't lost anything I wanted to overwinter.

And even more for all those people that thought not being displaced was a good idea. I hear they are pleading for help now that the full force is upon them.

I can tell there was a touch of frost on the sweet potato leaves. Not enough to kill the plants or touch anything else in the garden so I'm hoping to cover the sweets tonight and pray for a long Indian summer to follow tonight's expected frost.

I saw the dahlia garden today. Dead almost to the soil surface. Now, it will rain and the plants will turn to green mush! Things will get back to dry conditions soon enuf, I'd guess.

Got that nice reprieve from freezing in September despite the 3 mornings that put frost on nearby rooftops. Some of the mature and most cold-sensitive plants went down at that time -- squash, cucumbers and the more exposed tomatoes. Still had a few of those things over the final weeks.

I made no attempt to mitigate the frost damage. Seriously cold and now cold rain and strong winds in the forecast. What can grow?!!
