Funeral potatoes are really good! Not so good for ya...might send YOU to an early grave if you eat too many, but I like to have them at Christmas with ham. Easy dish to take to a potluck too. No leftovers to come home with.

Scrapple (Delaware)...no thanks! :sick

Hot Browns (Kentucky)...I'm going to have to try that. :drool

Rocky Mountain Oysters (Montana)...I thought that was a joke or maybe only eaten in 3rd world countries. I don't care how much batter you dip and fry them in. People really eat that? :sick

Pepperoni Rolls (West Virginia)...of course we're going to have good tailgating snacks. :cool:

I have just discovered that I've been living in a cave all these years. Here I am a faithful Idahoan and have never even heard of finger steaks. A quick poll of my fellow cavees revealed the same.

Note to self: Must get out more often!

I've been to the Hormel Spam plant. Its amazing how its produced and canned in a very tall canning silo/thingie. Its really a quality product, not full of the junk that people associate it with .

We call the company "Hor MEL". The locals call it "HOR mels".

That was an interesting list.

people eat them, that's just nuts or what.....:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

it only shows what they want you to see, what they should show for each state the micro delicious for each of their regions.

I had Rocky Mountain Oysters once when traveling through Oklahoma. There were lots of feed lots, so many that the aroma of steer poo wafted through town. I guess with all those previously un-steered, there were lots of RMO's, so put them on the menu. They were sliced thin and dipped in gobs of batter and fried. Not a lot of taste, really.

Scrapple. I remember my Grandmother making scrapple and souse from hog's heads. She sliced the scrapple and fried it.

Shrimp grits. (don't remember what state) DEE-LICIOUS!! Grits anything is good.

GUMBO!! :drool Louisiana. I adore gumbo and love to make it. Any kind of gumbo, but crab is my favorite.
