I know many of you probably already saw this on BYC...but here's how things are going (other than the powdery mildew) this year for my lil garden.

Baby Tomatoes (I direct sowed...very brave, or very stupid. Time will tell...)

Everything looks great! Love the color of that peony! I saw in your powdery mildew post, you had 100+ plants. What in the world will you do with all that squash???? Happy Gardening!

Well thats to account for any plants that might die, and we really eat most of it...my kids are squash monsters.

sparkles, SO PRETTY!!!
I put mine in a 3 x 6ft raised bed. I know you're supposed to tear your lettuce leaves, but I was pulling the plants out of the ground doing that!! So, I've been cutting the leaves with vegetables scissors for the past two months. I'm growing essentialy what YOU are, a Mescaline (French) blend. I bought that and and Italian blend, but I've only planted about 1/3 of the French seeds and none yet of the Italian. I'm going to try to grow some inside over the winter.
My family loves vinegar and oil dressings on this type of lettuce, and especially Raspberry Vinegrette.
DESPITE temperatures in the low 90's none have bolted...YET.

I know there are weeds int he pics, but the mosquitoes have been SO bad I havent been able to weed for about a week. Its killing me, my garden is my sanctuary, and the skeeters are stealing it.
This is one of the plants I direct sowed :)

And this is one I bought half-grown from the nursery to compare flavor.
