TheChickenMama, I enjoyed your blog and your garden is sooooo big and beautiful. I look at my tiny one with sad eyes. :( I especially loved reading about your future plans. They sound so wonderful. I would plant the orchard asap since it takes a few years for the trees to bear fruit.

Thanks so much, everyone! All of my free time is spent in the garden lately. It's my escape, my therapy, and my passion.

We've already put in 10 fruit trees this spring. We still need to get a couple more to ensure cross pollination, but they're pretty expensive. My friends think I'm strange because all of our "extra" money goes towards improving the farm, while their "extra" money goes towards dinners out or vacations or (in one particular friend's case) a new dvd player and tinted windows for her car and Coach purses. I guess I'm just not that kind of girl...

Welcome to my world! Most people we know, including relatives, friends and co-workers all think we are nuts spending our excess money and time on the farm. That's ok. I am perfectly happy not being like most. Being good stewards of our land and animals, using them both to feed our family and freinds and having peace while doing it, is worth so much more than a new car, new bag, new hairstyle or anything else.

Your garden looks fabulous and your blog was a priviledge to read as well. You have some very cute "farm hands" there!
