Gardening season has started

Well I got to get out on the tractor today and get some disking done.
Here is "Garden One" after running the disks over it about 4 times. All that is left is some tilling.

The soil is rich with some clay and a lot of sand, I let the grass grow up in it in the fall (kind of like a green manure) then mow and plow it all under in the spring.

It is rural here, my closest neighbor is about 900 - 1050 feet away.

We have some Covered Bridges in the county the link will take you to a list with some pictures.

The links to covered bridges: Here's one that I used to cross and swim under. When I was a kid, it never occurred to me that they would close it. But it makes a nice park. McKee Bridge in southern Oregon

I knew Ohio had lots of covered bridges. I've admired them in one of those coffee table picture books .

I've been working on that too, going on 4 years now. Let's just say it's gonna take a LOT with this red clay. Dig 10" down here and you can get a pure enough clay to make pottery. I agreed to my husband buying a newer truck on one term--he is enslaved to haul manure for me for the rest of his life! Ha.
