This weather has been great but we have also had TONS of rain. I saw this morning that my garlic is really starting to grow. I went into the garden and notice that the outside garlic (it is in beds) has all the soil washed off. Plus side to that is that I saw how great the roots look on the garlic but now I have to get some compost of something and recover it. I am also going to try to get some more mulch. I used everything I had but really need more to keep it from washing. Next year I am going to have built it raised beds and not just hoed up raised beds.

If Buckeye Chuck is not correct and it does get cold will I need cover the garlic to keep from loosing it.

I had a problem that a heavy rain would wash through my garden and dig a ditch. Anything in that path was washed out and that was across the middle. I solved that by making the outside row in the direction the water came from a raised row to divert the running water away from the garden. Occasionally I have a relapse if I don't keep it maintained, but that really helped. So maybe build a dam?

Yeah, my garlic and onions are growing with this warm weather. My leeks are really looking good! I'm starting to think I need to blanche them. I have mulched them all pretty well to protect the roots because I just don't trust this weather. It's got to get cold for a spell. I still think it is just trying to lure us into a trap.

My wife heard someone say today that they had a house fly. Here in early February!!! That's just not right.

Yeah this is strange weather. Europe is a deep freeze right now. Extremely cold weather, they have a lot of people dying. No way to know if we are going to get it or not.
