If we say that 18 years is the age of adulthood ...

on New Year’s Eve, every adult will have been born in the 20th century and every child will have been born in the 21st century.

This will be true only on that day.

That is an interesting thought that I never would have thought of. Time really does fly by if don't pay attention to life.

Nope.

I haven't had a clear concept of adulthood this side of adolescence ... :).

A linguist shared the realization ... always looking to define things, some people.

I heard this the other day, but when I say your title I was thinking of something else because I have babies on my mind. DD went for ultrasound today and all is well. She is 8 weeks and 5 days due August 5, which is 8 days before DS's birthday. If she has a girl, this baby would be the first born daughter of a first born daughter (DD), of a first born daughter (me), of a first born daughter (my mother) of a first born daughter (my grandmother) and will have to check Ancestry.com to see if my great-grandmother was a first born daughter.

Babies are wonderful!

Generations of babies are "what it's all about" and always has been.

Ancestry is fun to learn about for the younger generation. It can make history more real. Haven't opened it, but I picked up a book from the library a couple of days ago: It's All Relative, adventures up and down the world's family tree.

Yes, babies are wonderful, but we just found out we are getting another one in our family, to a couple who really don't need another baby right now (or ever)
Many kids and pets, small house and income.
I'm trying to be positive about this, but.....
(I know. Don't chastise me about the sanctity of life and how precious every baby is. I know that. But you need to be responsible and able to afford them.)

I’m able to admire them from afar ... like on the sidewalk in front of the house. About as close as I get to infants, these days.

From the front porch, think about what it means to look back on all the “kids.” 18x2=36, 18x3=54, 18x5= .... Dad’s Age!

Let’s say, we are 21 yo ... 10 years ago, we were 11. We were just little kids. Let’s say, we are 70 yo! 10 years ago, we were ... grandma and grandpa. What? Time, waits for no one. No, not even ... us. Yo

Steve ;)

Lucky my saying is don't breed them if you can't feed them
