Hello,
I am in Louisville, KY, is it safe to start my early spring veggies? I have never had an early garden before.
Thanks in advance :)

Welcome, @HeatherMc, to TEG! Glad you have found us. Despite the beautiful weather we've been having in South-est, central-est, Wisconsin, it is still the "winter" season. Antsy as I may be, planting this early is a plan for disaster.

You, however, are further South. We have gardeners who can give you the advice you need.

Welcome, @HeatherMc ! :frow The WVU ag extension has a free printable download (also available in print version early in the year) gardening calendar. It lays out when to plant what. Very helpful. Kentucky's university ag extension may have something like that, but if not, the WV version should be very close to your growing conditions. You can find it here.

Hi, from your neighbor in Missouri. I have cabbage started, and peppers and flower seeds planted. I will probably put the cabbage out in a couple of weeks.
If you have a way to protect the plants in case we get a pretty cold spell, I say go for it. I use flower pots, buckets, etc. to cover plants in a hurry. Or if you can put up a low tunnel, that would be fantastic.
