today we started seeding some of our garden plants. We planted 6 tomato varieties, 5 different peppers , 2 types of broccoli, some snowball cauliflower, cabbages, and a few different hoards. A couple other things I don’t remember right now. This is what it looks like now

The plants under the lights are DW flowers we seeded about 3.5 weeks ago. Today’s are the flats on the bottom on heat mat. We have enough space for 8 flats on heat mats under lights. DW flowers are in plug trays so between the 3 flats there there are about 860 flowers of assorted varieties. We going to wait a couple weeks before starting the squashes . I think the upgrades to the seed starting setup are going to work well.

@murphysranch , we use a sharpie to write on the sticks. Yesterday DW lost the sharpie for awhile so I used a regular ballpoint pen for some of it. We have lots of the plastic markers but I somehow didn’t get around to sanding off last years words, so popsicle sticks it is. Definitely going to keep an eye on them so they don’t fade out on me.

@thistlebloom , We will put them in the greenhouse when we start up potting. It not as good as the cold frame for hardening off plants but better than nothing. Plus it will hold hundreds of plants, but you have to work harder at getting them acclimated to Outdoors.

@digitS' , sorry to report the cold frame was damaged beyond repair in the windstorm of November 2015. I thought I could just build a new top and it could be just as good as before. It wasn’t to be though I found much of the framing cracked and some even splintered and the poly glass panels busted around the screw holes and also had cracks in them. I really need to make another one though it was nice to have and use in the spring.
