My son John is visiting Iceland of all places. He wrote that Iceland is an amazing place, so I am looking forward to some great photos when he returns. I could not understand why in the world he wanted to go to Iceland, however, I read that Iceland has become a very popular destination lately. Anyway, it sure looks different based on the photo I just received, like something out of Harry Potter.

As I nderstand it, Iceland is a beautiful place. Named that way to keep people away.

Greenland is the opposite.

I read that there are less than 350,000 people in the whole darn country, so they have been doing a pretty good job of keeping people away so far. The temperature in Reykjavík is 42 degrees tonight and the temperature here is 41, so he should feel right at home.

My daughter Bianca went there in September. She said it was beautiful. Tourism is starting to take off and there is a lot of roads being built. Locals are not happy about it and not very nice to outsiders.

I have read a little about the resentment also Mary. That said, they really need the tourism dollars, as there is not a lot other than fishing. John is a vegan, so I think he is going to struggle to find anywhere to eat. I know he packed a lot of MREs that he purchased online. Poor Ava is like a fish out of water missing her dad. :(
