I have never seen asters in anything but purple, bluish purple or pinkish purple.
But then, there's lots of things I've never seen, so...........

According to this, aster is a big family, with mums, marigolds, sunflowers and zinnias. And of course those are yellow, among other colors. So color me wrong. But I think your plant, @Nyboy, would be considered a daisy mum, for all practical purposes.

I have a wild blue aster, that flowers every fall. Never understand why people call them weeds there very pretty.

Thank you for the research, so lucky. I didn't realize the aster family was so large. I do have a red aster -- one of the plants we typically consider fall asters -- so there have been a lot of experiment/development in the fall aster varieties as well.
