This morning, "Buttercup" (the last remaining kid) was wanting someone to play with her.
"Shortnin'" was not in the mood!

I saw on the news the Tucson area got a big rain, how did you do?

Our summer "monsoon" season has the most erratic storms! It can have thunder and lightning, rain coming down so hard you can't see, two blocks away from me! And be dry as a bone in my yard! I have even had it pour down rain in the front yard and have nothing in the back yard! The last "big storm" that made the news... I got less than a quarter inch of rain! Yet just a few miles from here roads were destroyed from flooding.

I much prefer the winter rains, where the entire city gets "socked in" and we have slow, lighter rains all day long. Then the water is able to soak in rather than just run off.
