@bobm, I don't think we will find any large peer-reviewed studies on this unless there is a financial reason for folks with deep pockets.
All I know for sure is that I had to give up drinking regular milk years ago; it got to the point that even taking the little pills didn't help. Now, for the past 3 years, drinking raw Guernsey milk, I can drink all I want, and there is no gas, no bloating, no pain. Same for my DH. Between the two of us, we drink a gallon a week.
