So I planted some green beans in August and they are huge now. But I am not seeing to many flowers? Some but not many. What gives? Is it too late? Should I have patience or should I just call it quits and plant my cover crop like I intended.

I dunno bout you, but I just about *always* think my beans should be flowering profusely a couple weeks before THEY think they should be flowering profusely. Clearly I am just not cut out to be a bean plant. I vote for patience :)

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Well how deep are you sowing them, if I remember right "patience"
Takes years to sprout and needs to be planted deep in the soul.

The bush beans I planted in July, Obsessed, were fried by frost this morning. Fortunately, I picked beans 3 times off those plants over the last 3 weeks - the last time, just before dark last night. Essentially, I got them all . . .

First killing frost came late this year for here but I'd bet that you can go well into November.

Once they bloom, tiny beans won't be far behind.
