How am I suppose to care for the onions I bring home from the store. I have them in a glass of water right now and plan on taking them out as I need them. Once the green is all gone it is ok to replant them and will they continue to grow again?

I just store mine (for eating, from store) in the plastic bag I brought them home in, not tightly sealed <shrug>

Yes, you can use the green tops (leave some greenish length on them for best results) and plant the bottom half of them, provided they have decent little stubs of roots -- IME the majority of green onions from the store do, but sometimes you get ones that are too old and dried or slimy. Just plant them, an inch or more into some good potting medium or really good light fine garden soil, and be nice to them while the roots regrow. Top growth should resume, and once it gets long enough you can cut bits from the top for further eatin'. The more modest you are in your demands of them, the longer they will last ;)

Good luck, have fun,

Pat
